Philadelphia-based mid-market buy-out firm LLR Partners has closed its third fund, LLR Equity Partners III, on $800m, exceeding its initial target of $600m. LLR III will continue the firm's investment focus, targeting mid-market growth companies, with an emphasis on sectors including business services, healthcare, financial services and IT.
Howard Ross, a founder and partner of LLR, said, 'We are pleased to have the continued support of our existing limited partners and to have gained the confidence of many new investors.
'The closing of LLR III is a strong validation of our investment philosophy. We are service-oriented investors who focus on compelling transactions where we can make a real difference.' he added
The firm closed its previous fund, LLR Equity Partners II, in late 2004, on $360m.
In March of this year, LLR participated in a $50m financing round for specialty drug marketer EKR Therapeutics.
