GEF hires Raj Pai as managing director for India, South Asia18/07/2008. Source: AltAssets. 
 Washington, DC-based private equity firm Global Environment Fund has appointed Raj Pai as a managing director for the firm's investment activities in India and South Asia.
In his new role, Pai will be based in the firm's Mumbai office, and will concentrate on investment opportunities with a special focus on cleantech and alternative energy in Asia.
Prior to GEF, Pai was a managing director at CID Capital, where he was responsible for investing growth and expansion stage capital in the US and India.
Earlier this month, GEF hired former Carlyle partner Jay Powell as a managing partner, serving with the firm's cleantech investment team.
