General Atlantic hires Robert Callahan, Dinvar Devitre26/06/2008. Source: AltAssets. 
 General Atlantic has appointed former ABC president Robert F Callahan and former Altria Group CFO Dinyar S Devitre as special advisors to the firm. Both will provide strategic counsel to GA and its portfolio companies.
Callahan's focus will be on the media and consumer sector. Previously he served as the CEO of Ziff Davis Media. Prior to that, Callahan served as president of broadcasting group ABC, where he managed the ABC TV Network, the ten ABC-owned TV stations, the 54 ABC-owned radio stations and the ABC Radio Networks. He sits on the boards of GA portfolio companies Network Solutions and Webloyalty.com.
Devitre previously served as senior vice president and CFO of Altria Group from 2002 to 2008. Before that, he served as executive vice president at Citigroup and Citibank in Europe from 1998 to 2001.
Devitre is a director and chairman of the audit committee at Western Union Company. He is also a director at Altria Group and SABMiller. He serves as a trustee of the Asia Society and Brooklyn Academy of Music and is a director of Lincoln Center.
GA manages approximately $17bn in capital. The firm has offices in Greenwich, New York, Palo Alto, London, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong, Mumbai and São Paulo. Its investments in media and consumer-related companies include MercadoLibre, Dice, AKQA, Webloyalty and Network Solutions.
