A private equity consortium led by Columbia Capital, M/C Venture Partners and Innova Capital and including HarbourVest Partners, Oak Investment Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners has acquired 100 per cent of telecom service operator GTS Central Europe from Group Menatep Limited. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. GTS CE operates principally in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia, and also in the Ukraine, Latvia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia. In 2007, the company recorded revenues of approximately €400m, according to a statement.
Columbia Capital targets investments in the broadband, wireless, media and enterprise services segments.
M/C Venture Partners focuses exclusively on the communications, media and IT sectors.
Innova Capital specialises in investing in Central Europe.
