US consumer sector-focused private equity firm Catterton Partners has closed its Catterton Growth Partners fund on its hard cap of $300m. The fund will target control oriented investments in companies requiring between $10m and $30m of equity capital. Catterton Growth Partners has already made an $18m investment in Sweet Leaf Tea and a $17m investment in Miss Matched.

Catterton invests across various consumer segments, including food and beverage, retail and restaurants, consumer products and services, and media and marketing services. The firm has led investments in companies such as Breyers Yogurt, Wellness Pet Food, The Worth Collection, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Cheddar's Restaurants, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, Frederic Fekkai, Kettle Foods, Farley's and Sathers Candy, Odwalla and Heartland Recreational Vehicles. It now has approximately $2.3bn under management.
