Last year VC-backed Israeli high tech companies raised a total of $538m in 13 IPOs, according to data from the IVC Online Database, developed and maintained by the IVC Research Center. The IPOs included venture capital-backed companies BigBand, Mellanox and Veraz, which raised $160m, $117m and $72m, respectively. All three companies were listed on NASDAQ.
In total, 27 Israeli high tech companies raised $701m through IPOs on US, European and Israeli stock exchanges.
IPO dollar volumes have been relatively stable over the past three years, with $692m raised through IPOs in 2006 and $694m in 2005. At the height of the dotcom bubble, VC-backed Israeli high tech companies raised over $1bn ($1.05bn in 1999 and $1.73bn in 2000).
