American Capital hires Joel Houck

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityAlternative assets management company American Capital Strategies has appointed Joel Houck as a senior vice president and managing director. In his new role, Houck will be responsible for developing a new closed-end fund, which would be managed by an affiliate of American Capital.

Houck joins American Capital from Wachovia Capital Markets where he served as a senior equity analyst and covered companies in the specialty finance sector since 2002.

Prior to Wachovia, Houck worked for A.G. Edwards & Sons as a senior equity analyst. He came to A.G. Edwards after six years in the commercial banking industry, during which he worked as a credit and commercial loan officer for NationsBank Corp. (formerly Boatmen's Bancshares) and PNC Bank Corp.

American Capital manages $16bn in assets and is an investor in management and employee buy-outs, private equity buy-outs, and early stage and mature private and public companies.
