Duke Street Capital and Europa Capital acquire CI Traders

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityUK and France-based mid-market private equity firm Duke Street Capital and European real estate fund manager Europa Capital have completed the acquisition of CI Traders through Sandpiper, a newly incorporated Jersey-based company, for 100 pence per share or an enterprise value of about £401m. CI Traders is an operator of consumer and leisure sector businesses.

The proposal for Sandpiper to take over CI Traders was accepted by more than 94 per cent of the shares voting at a meeting to consider the offer.

Duke Street Capital and Europa Capital are backing a management team which will be led by incoming chief executive Tony O'Neill.

Duke Street Capital focuses on mid-market LBOs, investing in established UK and French businesses with enterprise values of up to €500m. The firm considers all investment opportunities, but particularly focuses on the retail and consumer, leisure, healthcare, financial services, and business services sectors.
