Hermes chief executive Mark Anson is leaving the firm. Hermes stated family reasons for his departure only 18 months after he took on the role as chief executive. Hermes also said that Anson will take up a senior position with a major investment management firm, based in Chicago, from September.
Until his successor has been appointed, the firm will be run by the Executive Committee, led by Rupert Clarke.
Richard Bernays, chairman of Hermes Pensions Management, said, 'Mark has made a significant contribution to Hermes since he joined at the beginning of last year. We understand the family reasons that require him to return to the US and we wish him and his family well.'
Hermes is a UK pension fund manager with assets under management and advice of approximately £72bn.
