 3i has acquired independent financial adviser Bestinvest. The terms of the transaction were not officially disclosed but several sources said that the deal was worth about £165m.
Bestinvest, founded in 1986 by majority shareholder John Spiers, currently looks after client assets exceeding £3.7bn.
Andrew Barnes, Bestinvest CEO, will continue to lead the existing management team moving forwards.
