Pan-European private equity firm Stirling Square Capital Partners has agreed to sell its controlling stake in Schoeller Arca Systems to One Equity Partners at an enterprise value of €428m. The founding family and management will continue to hold their respective stakes. Stirling Square acquired a controlling stake in Schoeller Wavin Systems for €143m from the Schoeller family in August 2003. Schoeller Arca Systems was created when Schoeller Wavin Systems acquired Swedish company Arca Systems in February 2005.
Schoeller Arca Systems, headquartered in the Netherlands, is a specialist in rigid plastic packaging systems for materials handling. Revenues have increased from €165m in 2002 to €465m during the twelve-month period ending May 2007 and the number of employees from 763 at the end of 2002 to 1,416 today.
The Schoeller Arca Systems deal is the second exit for Stirling Square over the past two months and follows the $343m sale of Global Design Technologies in May.
Stirling Square targets European transactions in the range of €50-500m.
