NorgesInvestor of Norway has closed its first private equity secondaries fund, NorgesInvestor Opportunities, above its NOK150m target on NOK156m (approximately €19m). A first closing took place in December on NOK130m. Capital commitments came primarily from Norwegian institutional investors, including banks, foundations and family offices.
The fund will focus on secondary interests in mature private equity funds in the Nordic region. The team is in advanced negotiations to close the first deal, the firm told AltAssets.
Dylan Wolff, partner, NorgesInvestor, and lead manager of the fund, said, 'We believe that there is a strong need for increased liquidity for private equity investors in the Nordic region, and our aim is to be the preferred purchaser of late stage private equity fund interests in the region.'
NorgesInvestor's activities include private equity investments, hedge fund investments, hedge fund consulting, structured products, discretionary asset management and corporate advisory.
