Benelux venture capital firm GIMV has appointed Geoffroy Dubus to their team. Dubus will lead the French ICT investment activities and establish GIMV's new office in France. He is a former general partner of Innovacom, a French venture capital firm specialised in IT and telecoms. Prior to that, Dubus was assistant vice-president and director of business development of France Telecom North America (New York).
'Our ambition is to become a tier 1 VC in Europe,' said Alex Brabers, executive vice president, GIMV ICT. 'Although GIMV ICT has been very active and successful in France for about ten years, being physically present there will facilitate our international activities. In particular, it will enable us to work more closely with our portfolio companies and further develop our network in France. It is a natural choice given the size of the French market for high tech companies in Europe. Moreover, it supports our strategy to provide to the best European start-ups an international investment offering with a presence in Belgium, The Netherlands and France.'
GIMV focuses on sectors including information and communication technology, and life sciences. About 20 per cent of the firm's current ICT portfolio is based in France (including Maximiles, Inside contactless, TinubuSquare and CTS International).
