Doughty Hanson Fund V closes on €3bn

Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityEuropean private equity firm Doughty Hanson & Co has closed its latest private equity fund, Doughty Hanson V, on €3bn, the target of the fund.

Investors include Allianz Private Equity, HarbourVest Partners, Ilmarinen Insurance, JPMorgan Asset Management, Morley Fund Management, Partners Group, Pantheon Ventures, the State of Michigan public employee pension fund, the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO) and Verizon Investment Management.

Commitments from European investors account for 49 per cent of Fund V, while commitments from US investors account for 32 per cent and from Asian/Middle East investors for 19 per cent.

With its new fund Doughty Hanson will continue to invest in mid-market to large European businesses with an enterprise value in the range of €250m to €1bn.

Doughty Hanson has announced two acquisitions from Fund V to date: Avanza, a bus operator in Spain; and Norit, a supplier of purification technologies, based in the Netherlands.
