Hermes Private Equity has backed the management buy-out of Walbrook, the trust and company services arm of Deloitte in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. The transaction has been valued at more than £50m.
Walbrook offers fiduciary and advisory services to private, corporate and institutional clients, including trustee and investment management services, and tax advisory and compliance services. As an independent company, Walbrook intends to expand and develop a broader range of services for international clients.
‘The international financial landscape has been transformed over the past three years, absorbing new regulations and meeting tough new standards,’ said Bryan Dix, chief executive of Walbrook. ‘Walbrook is perfectly placed to thrive in these new conditions. We already have highly qualified teams in three jurisdictions, and our aim now is to become the leading provider of international fiduciary services within three years.’
Rod Selkirk, chief executive of Hermes Private Equity added, ‘Walbrook has a very strong management team, an impressive tack record, and is operating in a growth sector. We look forward to supporting the management both financially and strategically in achieving their goals.’
