Click here for the latest news, views and interviews in the clean energy investor communityJapanese JAFCO Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in technology-related, early expansion-stage companies, has announced the final close on JAFCO Technology Partners I fund at $100m.

The fund will invest between $2m and $6m in US technology companies. JAFCO intends to make approximately 20 investments over the next two years.

‘With a new team of highly experienced venture capital investors, I am particularly proud of the quality of our investment professionals,’ said Joe Horowitz, managing general partner. ‘Their venture capital and operating experience lends credibility to the value creation process. This, combined with a modest fund size, allows us to provide emerging technology companies with significant help, yet a lot of flexibility in structuring financing opportunities.’

JAFCO is a publicly traded venture capital firm that currently manages over 60 funds with offices in Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and North America.
