US-based Three Arch Partners is approaching the final close of its $400m fund. The firm expects to close its fifth fund later this week just one month after its official launch.
The new fund will focus on medical devices and will maintain the firm's traditional emphasis on early-stage US investments. The firm will also consider deals in biotechnology, healthcare services and healthcare information technology, as well as selected later-stage transactions, according to a report by VentureWire.
Three Arch Partners currently manages in excess of $1bn. It is currently investing from its $300m fourth fund, which it expects to be fully committed by early next year. The firm's portfolio includes AccessClosure, ePocrates, Evalve, Opus Medical, Novare Surgical systems, Vascular Architects and Satiety.
