American Securities Capital Partners is to acquire the six operating subsidiaries of energy recycler Primary Energy in a $335m deal.
Primary Energy consists of six facilities that generate 900 megawatts of electricity and thermal energy by recycling blast furnace gas and wasted heat from coke ovens and gas-driven power generation.
‘We are fortunate to be able to partner with this experienced team to acquire distributed power-generation assets,' said Michael Fisch, president of American Securities Capital Partners.
American Securities Capital Partners is the private-equity investment arm of American Securities, a family office founded by William Rosenwald in 1947, to manage his share of the Sears Roebuck fortune. The firm has more than $1bn under management.
