Carlyle sees fund valuations climb in first quarter


dcPrivate equity major Carlyle said that its carry fund valuations climbed six per cent in the first quarter.

In the past year, Carlyle’s fund portfolio rose 18 per cent, while the MSCI All Country World Index increased just one per cent in the last quarter and 15 per cent over the past 12 months.

Carlyle’s private equity funds saw their value increase eight per cent and 28 per cne tin the first quarter and over the last year, respectively.

The value of its real estate funds rose two per cent in the first quarter and seven per cent in the past year.

The firm’s energy funds did not perform as well, seeing their value decline four per cent over the past year.
