This role is with the London based fund investment team of a global private equity business. It has a significant profile amongst private equity GPs and access to the leading funds around the world. It would like to add an associate to its current team of four to focus on the due diligence and research involved in making investment decisions. The team works closely together to reach the best conclusion so a friendly cooperative style is crucial. You will do due diligence on some of the world’s most prominent private equity and venture businesses, meeting the founders and partners in those businesses as well as seeking out the GPs of the future. You will also get involved in the post investment monitoring and maintaining relationships with investee funds will be an important part of your role.
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A strong academic background with at least a 2.1 from a leading university or equivalent
- An MBA would be a good thing but is not absolutely necessary
- Work experience from the banking sector in M&A, leverage finance or equity research to complement the current team of mainly former strategy consultants
- Fluent spoken and written English – a written English test is part of the recruitment process
- An additional European language would be useful but is not necessary, particularly a Nordic or Eastern European language
- Permission to work in the UK
- A good understanding of private equity and a commitment to fund investing – if you want to do direct investing then this role is not for you
