PER is working with one of Europe’s most successful growth and buy-out investors. The fund currently has £500m under management and focuses on investments in businesses right across the UK valued at £10-75m. Opportunities in Edinburgh are of course rare, so if you’re looking to be based in the city, this is a great chance to build a career in private equity in Scotland – and a great opportunity generally, given the fund’s track record over 20 years. The Edinburgh team works on transactions across Scotland and northern England. As an analyst, you’ll be involved in every stage of the transaction from the start, liaising with management teams and managing the advisors, as well as performing the usual financial modelling and due diligence. It’s important that you feel comfortable dealing with people and confident that you can help guide management teams often unused to the private equity investment model through the process. You’ll be a part of a friendly and relaxed team with a great reputation, and given the freedom to assume a lot of responsibility from the start.
Candidates should demonstrate the following:
- A good commercial feel for UK business
- Strategic / management consultancy or transaction services experience, or accountancy training with an ACA
- Strong financial understanding and some modelling experience
- Flexibility and enthusiasm
- Comfortable working with management teams from all backgrounds
- Passion for the UK mid market
