International Asset Management opens Sweden office, hires Henric Malmqvist02/10/2008. Source: AltAssets. 
 Fund of hedge funds manager International Asset Management has opened an office in Stockholm. Henric Malmqvist has been appointed director for the new location to increase IAM's reach and audience.
Malmqvist will be responsible for developing a broader sales and distribution network. He joins IAM from ABN AMRO Asset Management, where he worked for four years in institutional sales as a product specialist in alternative products. Prior to this, he worked at Banco Fonder/Alfred Berg and Bank Sarasin & Cie in Zurich.
Morten Spenner, IAM's CEO, said, 'We are proud to announce our expansion into Sweden. That this office opening is possible is testament to our track record in tailor-making investment solutions for clients globally and we look forward to developing our current client base in mainland Europe under the excellent leadership of Henric, whom we welcome to the team.'
IAM, founded in 1989, also has offices in London and New York. It has assets under management of about $4.2bn.
