AXA IM expands fund of hedge funds practice01/10/2008. Source: AltAssets. 
 AXA Investment Managers, the asset management company within AXA Group, has strengthened its fund of hedge funds team with the appointment of Roman Berri as portfolio manager and David Canty as senior operational due diligence analyst. Aninda Nath has also joined as senior strategy analyst and Wesley Thornburgh has been appointed as strategy analyst.
Berri will report to global head of fund of hedge funds Christoph Manser. He joins from 47° North Capital Management, where he was head of portfolio management for its New Generation Fund. Prior to this, he was hedge fund due diligence analyst and risk manager at RMF Investment Group.
Canty will report to Sharmila Soosaipillai, head of operational due diligence and along with the rest of the team is responsible for operational, financial and business due diligence. He joins from Global Asset Management where he was operational risk manager for the multi-manager hedge fund group.
Nath will focus on credit and event-driven strategies and reports to Raza Hussain, head of research. He joins from Barclays Global Investors, where he was a principal of the fund of hedge funds group in New York.
Thornburgh will also report to Hussain with responsibilities including convertible and volatility arbitrage and global macro. He joins from Grace Brothers Management, where he was a convertible arbitrage trader and analyst.
