Investment firm The D. E. Shaw group has hired Tom Levy as the firm's senior counterparty relationship manager. In his new role, Levy will serve as a primary point of contact between the firm and its financing and trading counterparties. Previously, Levy was a managing director, global head of client coverage, and co-head of global prime brokerage sales of Morgan Stanley, where he began his career in 1988.
Julius Gaudio, a managing director of D. E. Shaw, and a member of the firm's executive committee, said, 'We are delighted that Tom is joining us. With his broad industry experience, client coverage expertise and product knowledge, he is well-suited to maximise the effectiveness of our counterparty relationships across a growing suite of investment strategies.'
D. E. Shaw employs more than 1,500 people, and has $3bn of assets under management.
