Goldman Sachs partner Driss Ben-Brahim joins GLG Partners08/07/2008. Source: AltAssets. 
Alternative asset manager GLG Partners has appointed Driss Ben-Brahim. His task will be to develop a special situations platform which will include the firm's existing $1.2bn emerging markets special situations business. In addition, he will work on a global macro platform and a series of thematic funds for sovereign wealth funds.
Ben-Brahim previously was a partner at Goldman Sachs, responsible for several trading businesses, including the Global Macro Proprietary trading group and Options and Complex Derivatives trading. Since 2006, he ran the Goldman Sachs Emerging Markets trading business in London and an emerging markets principal investments business.
Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
