Danfonds to launch hybrid hedge fund, private equity vehicle for frontier markets24/06/2008. Source: AltAssets. 
 Copenhagen-based frontier market specialist Danfonds has incorporated a Cayman-based segregated portfolio company as the vehicle for two funds that it intends to market to Scandinavian institutions.
Danfonds said in a statement that the firm has decided against the traditional limited partnership route because its investors have expressed an interest in exposure to both unlisted and listed opportunities.
Its liquid class B shares will be listed on the Irish stock exchange as a hedge fund, open to institutional investors with a six-month lock-up. The private equity class D shares will be closed-ended and by invitation only.
The B management class and C illiquid class will not be managed, the latter being used to manage redemptions from the liquid class, according to a statement.
