Israeli venture capital firms are in the midst of a new wave of capital raising. Zeev Holtzman, Chairman and CEO of Giza Venture Capital, assesses the current environment for fund raising and discusses those ingredients that can increase a fund’s chances for success. Israeli VC funds are back in the market to raise capital. In the current round, the first since the entire industry was rocked by the bursting of the high-tech bubble, three funds – Evergreen, Pitango and Gemini – have completed their capital raising. Additionally, Giza Venture Capital has had its initial closing. And now, about 25 others are in a race to raise follow-on investments. In total, Israeli venture capital funds are seeking to
raise $3 billion to $4 billion.
